What is Platelet Rich Fibrin?

Liquid Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) is an advanced regenerative therapy that utilises the body’s natural healing properties to promote tissue regeneration and accelerate recovery. A small sample of blood is collected and centrifugated to concentrate platelets and fibrin into a liquid form. Platelets are blood cells that release growth factors, while the Fibrin forms a network that holds the growth factors in place of injury enhancing tissue regeneration and skin healing. Unlike traditional Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), Liquid PRF is a more natural solution because it does not require anticoagulants or additives. It is also spun at a much slower speed to PRP and so the collection yields a higher concentration of growth factors that have greater preserved cell vitality.

    We will then treat your chosen area(s) with your own liquid PRF and Exceed medical microneedling. The PRF will be left on your skin for up to 8 hours so take this into consideration when booking your appointment.

  • The PRF is left on the skin for 8 hours post-treatment.

    There will be visible redness and a slight sunburn feeling which can last anywhere from 1 hour to 72 hours, and this varies depending on skin sensitivity.

    Some experience some slight flaking and dryness by day 5 and this will resolve entirely on its own through the use of gentle, hydrating skincare products (not to be exfoliated).

    • avoid AHAs, BHAs, retinols, scrubs for 7 days before and after

    • avoid facial waxing 5 days before

    • avoid sunbeds/excessive tanning for 7 days before and after

    • avoid any facial procedures (dermal filler, botox, etc) for 14 days before

    • avoid wearing makeup to your appointment and avoid where possible directly after your appointment for up to 48 hours

    • ensure your pillowcases and makeup brushes are washed before their next use

    • wash the PRF off the skin 8 hours after your appointment with lukewarm water

    • use daily a minimum of SPF 30+ after
